Alex Lassa is a college senior pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Classical Guitar Performance at the prestigious Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester. He is a student of grammy nominated Nicholas Goluses. Alex has performed at on and off campus venues in the Rochester area, as well as in his hometown of Leesburg, VA. He has participated in various competitions, as well as master classes, including Jason Vieaux, Matt Palmer, and Elliot Fisk. He has also performed in multiple rock groups, opening for nationally touring bands, and is well versed in rock/pop styles and jazz in addition to his classical studies. Prior to attending Eastman he was a part of ensembles that performed two world premieres, including 2012’s “Shiki,” written and conducted by Shingo Fuji, alongside the grammy awarded Los Angeles Guitar Quartet. He was recently awarded a Performer’s Certificate from the Eastman School of Music. Past awards include a Certificate of Merit for Music by the National Society of Arts and Letters at the Kennedy Center.
