Justyn Loney-Newman is currently a sophomore Music Education and Euphonium Performance major at The Eastman School of Music. In high school, she had the opportunity to perform in various All-County and All-State ensembles, including the All-County Jazz Band in 2014 and 2015, the New York All-State Concert Band in 2014, and the All-Eastern Concert Band in 2015. While studying privately in high school, Justyn also studied at The Eastman Community Music School and The Hochstein School of Music. In 2014, she won Best High School Soloist in the 198th Army Band Competition, and runner-up in 2015. In the summer of 2016, Justyn participated in the Eastman Summer Trombone Institute. Justyn has studied with musicians Evan Dobbins, Jeffrey Gray, Bob Kalwas, and Mark Kellogg. Currently, she plays in various ensembles at Eastman, such as The New Jazz Ensemble, Trombone Choir, Tuba Mirum, Brass Guild, The Wind Orchestra, Upstate Brass Band, and a tuba quartet. In the community, Justyn teaches private lessons, and volunteers at The Eastman Community Music School Early Child Music Program.
