WENDY TOH enjoys an active performance career, having made solo appearances in various concert and recital halls in United Kingdom, United States, Canada, China, and Singapore. Prize winner of the Singapore National Violin Competition and first prize winner of the Duxbury Music Festival Chamber Competition, her awards include: 2016 Celentano Award for Excellence in Chamber Music, Buxton Fellowship for outstanding studies in violin, Caroline Cirotzki Barsh Scholarship for “an outstanding graduate violin major”, Hokkien Foundation: Arts and Culture Award, 2010 and the inaugural Alumni Excellence in Performing Arts Award from the Tanjong Katong Girls’ School. As an active chamber musician, she performed with members of the Ying Quartet as well as Eastman faculty members such as Eduardo Bellotti, Bonita Boyd, and Renée Jolles, and Paris Conservatoire faculty Pierre Henri Xuereb. She has also been part of events such as the Rochester Music Hall of Fame, Musicale: Performance Plus Series, the Bump Universal Movement Project Concert in New York City, If Music be the food Concert Series, University of Rochester Medical Center ‘Third Thursdays- Performing Arts and Culture Series’ at Sarah Flaum Atrium, Eastman Virtuosi Concert, Quartet recital at Syracuse Oasis in Syracuse, NY, The Carey Institute for Global Good, Rensselaerville, NY, Hudson Valley Concert, The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at University of Maryland, and so on.
Dedicated to community music projects, she has performed in venues such as the Museum of Play: Eastman Evening Series, Irondequoit Public Library: Music and Dance Series, Valley Manor@The Pops Concert, 441 Benefit Concert at Grace Church, and so on.
Passionate about teaching, she has served as the Violin and Theory Teacher at various music schools including My Inspirations Music School, Awards Music School, and My Melody Music School. The achievements of her students include winning orchestra positions and admission to major conservatories such as Eastman School of Music, University of Michigan, and so on as well as music festivals. She is currently a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate and Teaching Assistant at the Eastman School of Music under Professor Renée Jolles.
